Mandatory Welcome to my Blog!
Hello! My name is Mauricio, though I'm equally known as Moe and I'm starting this blog up for three reasons: to practice writing, to practice expressing my thoughts on literature, and to maybe make some money off adsense if people end up liking my thoughts. If so, great. If not, great either way since I've always been lazy with writing even during my English program in college.
So what kind of books am I going to be writing about? A pretty wide range but you'll find a pattern in my reading list (if I can get goodreads to get linked onto Blogger or something). The only books I have no interest in reading at the moments are political books, self-help books, religion, spirituality, and history. I do enough studying of those subjects through my daily article consumption. The books I'm interested in are mainly literary fiction, sci-fi, fantasy, non-fiction, essays, horror, mystery, and philosophy. Essentially, most books are on my increasingly growing bookshelf.
For an example of my reading pattern, here are the last five books I've read this year so far in order of most recent:
-Hidden Bodies by Caroline Kepnes
-Labyrinth by Jorge Luis Borges
-Way of Kings by Brandon Sanderon
-Norwegian Wood by Haruki Murakami
-Fight Club by Chuck Palahniuk
And for a better understanding, here's a list of my favorite books in no order:
-Moby Dick
-Name of the Wind + Wise Man's Fear
-Labyrinth
-100 Years of Solitude
-Macbeth
-Gone Girl
-Ender's Game
-Blood Meridian
I'm aiming to write reviews and thoughts on the books I read or have read. You can always write more about a book than the book has pages in it. There's never any lack of things to discuss about a book. I'll either focus on macro things like themes of love or micro things like why does Jorge Luis Borges spam infinity in his short stories?
I hope you'll read at least one of my articles and enjoy the thoughts I pour into it. And I hope most of all that I don't abandon this blog like I've done with several other projects I've worked on.
